Black Spots On The Eye

Black Spots On The Eye
by Dave Young
Framed in an inky sky,
blood orange ball,
a full moon eye.
A nick of the razor’s edge,
weeping, arterial trick
of the light…or so it seems.
Black spots form and flit,
like insects on the bark.
Clouds race
and shadows chase
at the flick of a lid.
Lucky man…haemorrhage…at your age,
these are the words I remember.
