Love exits left (remix)

by Dave Young

Love exits left –
Cloaked in an unsettling darkness,
and not for the first time he asks himself why.
—–
When they were apart
his skin breathed an indolent sigh,
and he felt her absence burn deep in his heart.
—–
She floats a mysterious orbit,
light and dark,
nurture and destruction.
—–
Like an open suitcase of unwanted clothes
their love laid strewn across the floor,
stained, discarded – laid bare.

This above poem is a remix of the poem Ask Myself Why from the collection of poems Water’s Edge by Dave Young and Juliet Adele, first published in 2011
