A new poem: Naked

He has stood naked in the fire of love,

sensing tremors of meaning that bypass the mind,

shaping and shifting direct to the marrow.

But like wood thrown to the fire,

he was quickly reduced to smoke,

left with the spiraling motion of tenderness,

drifting away in silence.

In my case the “drifting away in silence” was more a mute howl into the emptiness. (Think Munch)

Ah yes Roger. there are many the love lost route can take. I’ve had a running away from blunt (and not so blunt) objects being thrown in my direction but that wasn’t the mood i was trying to capture. Cheers for the comment…hope to catch up soon…Dave
