Natures snake

I believe in beginnings,
not endings.
Endings deceive you as to their nature,
they lie in wait,
as eager as ink,
waiting for words
not yet on the page.
Natures snake,
patrolling the margin
of your senses.
The earthquake telephone call,
the inequity of silence,
the tears for lost Edens.
