A life trapped inside a bottleneck,
afloat on a swallowing sea,
your hopes scattered like driftwood,
the day I decided to leave.
You drowned like many a sailor,
or the drunk who still harbours dreams.
The wave that finally sucked you down.
salt laden with my schemes.
As Ifloated towards the sunset,
wearing someone else’s eyes,
you were left to reflect the bitterness
of the void I left inside
